Applications are now available for the upcoming Mr. and Miss MHS Pageant.
Any student enrolled in Magazine Schools – Pre-K through 12th grade – is eligible to compete in the pageant, which will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Diamondback Arena.
There will be five categories for contestants: Mr. and Miss Baby Rattler (Pre-K through kindergarten), Little Mr. and Miss Rattler (first-third grades), Young Mr. and Miss Rattler (fourth-sixth grades), Mr. and Miss JMHS (seventh-ninth grades) and Mr. and Miss MHS (10th-12th grades).
Students will be judged on stage presence, facial expressions and poise as they walk in front of the judges, boys escorting girls, in their pageant attire. Dresses must meet the formal dress code in the student handbook. Boys should wear a nice button-up shirt with a tie. A suit or sport coat is optional.
First- through third-place prizes will be awarded in each category, as well as a crowd favorite winner for each category. Crowd favorites will be chosen through donation jars for each contestant.
Application forms are available in the high school and elementary school offices. There is a $25 entry fee that must be paid before students can participate.
Application forms must be turned in to the high school or elementary office by the end of the school day on Friday, Feb. 17.
There must be a minimum of 20 contestants or the pageant will be canceled. An announcement will be made by Feb. 20.
